Dastan was just like any kid being raised in the 1400’s and if you were not of nobility you were nothing.  So to most people Dastan was that, a typical poor commoner who had to start working to help support his family when he was 9 years old.  His family had a small farm and they worked hard to pull out crops to provide to the kingdom.  By the time he was 18 years old he was working in the castle personally for the royal family.  The king had seen how protective he was of the little kids around and protective of his family and wanted that type of protection for the Kings own children.

Dastan gladly took the job and spent the next 10 years protecting the children from little things and big things and sometimes it was hard from him and tested his morals.   Before the oldest son turned 21 a great evil came and destroyed the kingdom and everyone it.  The evil vampire known at Gaston Willington had taken a liking to Dastan and refused to kill him along with everyone else.    Gaston had turned Dastan into a vampire and made him actually kill the people he had taken care of.  It was hard for him at first, but eventually he became just as evil as Gaston and killed everything in sight.  This went on for about the first 150 years or so and Dastan could not take it anymore and killed Gaston in his sleep, along with the others that were Gaston’s followers.

It was at this time that Dastan to control of all the vampires and created the vampire council in which he was able to control the rest of the vampires under him.  He had learned a great deal from Gaston and there were many things he swore he would change.  In the beginning it might have been fun killing everything in sight, but Dastan had come to learn there was no one to control or boss around if they were all dead.  So he came up with a set of vampire rules and made sure that they were followed.

Dastan ruled this way for a few hundred years and things were working out wonderful and he had gone thru woman like water, but not many women wanted to stick around, but they always came back when they needed something.



All of his family is dead and long gone so it really doesn’t matter
