Cherry was born somewhere off of America's east coast and was given up for adoption despite her underwater nature. Due to how young she was when she got adopted, she has no memory of her life prior to being apart of a family. Due to being the eldest, she never even knew that she even was adopted and always thought that her adoptive parents were her biological parents. After her little sister Clarissa was born, they moved to a coastal city in Europe not wanting to risk anything when it came to Cherry. It was quite a wonder about how she never saw her tail until she was 13; it was assumed that it was dormant for quite a while until the time was right.

She struggled with the truth for a long time since the rest of her family didn't have colorful tails, so why did she? For a small time,, she went to Luna Vermiculus University hoping to meet those like her due to her feeling really out of place in her family. Cherry left school early on as she managed to find a way to graduate early putting her mind to work. After she got out of school, she decided to live at more of a beachy area to pretty much find herself.
